Nutrition Therapy

Our approach to Nutrition Therapy focuses on the whole person with the aim of improving health and overall daily functioning through optimal nutrient intake and lifestyle modifications. Through individual sessions with Christine Doolittle, MS, RD, CSSD, LDN, CLT, our Registered Dietitian and Nutrition Therapist, clients learn how to nourish their bodies and minds to best meet their health and fitness goals. This includes learning how to foster a positive and enjoyable relationship with food.

Christine looks at all aspects of an individual's health beginning with a thorough initial interview that addresses:

  • Symptoms
  • Diet
  • Emotional and psychological history
  • Lifestyle habits and family life
  • Health and medical history
  • Medications

Advanced tests and evaluations may include:

  • Medication/Drug nutrient interactions
  • Mediator Release Testing (MRT) for food sensitivities
  • Comprehensive metabolic testing to assess nutrient deficiencies, neurotransmitter imbalances, and fatty acid deficiencies.

Christine designs each nutrition care plan for the individual and her or his particular goals. Some clients may have many health issues which require significant dietary and lifestyle changes, nutritional supplements, and a considerable period of time to achieve changes. Others may require only minor nutritional and lifestyle alterations.

Nutrition Therapy can also help to prevent illness. It is safe for children as well as adults, and the dietary changes and supplements that are typically prescribed have far fewer side effects than pharmaceuticals.
